认识到自身需要改变的方式，是保持正念、活在当下，并审视自己的种种互动。退一步，观察你可能需要追求哪些可能性，从而在生活的方方面面感受到更深的相互依存。运用诗意的表达，为新的探索创造过渡空间。正是在这里，我们能够获得理解自然”复杂性”的智慧——这种复杂性被定义为某种”交织在一起”的状态，它无法被解开，却在持续不断地变化。
《存在的艺术》一书的作者史蒂芬·纳赫马诺维奇认为，当存在”在当下自由行动的能力、即兴发挥的能力时，既能解放我们，也会令我们感到恐惧”。这种感受存在于森林阴阳动态之中，存在于与婴儿互动时的微笑里，也存在于厨房中诱人的香气间。国际贝特森研究院院长诺拉·贝特森将其描述为”Aphanipoiesis”——”生命以不可见的方式向活力汇聚”。
